Nothing can go wrong? Right?
A simple dice game inspired by the traditional Japanese dice game Chō-han.
Nothing can go wrong when betting all of your savings right?
This is my incomplete submission to the Brackeys Game Jam 2025.1.
The theme was challenging, and I couldn't think of anything else that didn't involve dice. So, I created this small prototype, which unfortunately does not include my entire idea because I ran out of time to finish it.
I had fun building it anyway.
Lessons learned:
- Have a proper idea of the game. Prioritize a game design document or at least sketch the main idea. I decided on a hands-on approach, and it didn't go well.
- Don't try to make things look nice, get the main loop/mechanic working first. I spent a lot of time I didn't have animating things here and there.
I still learned a lot. Hopefully, I will be able to transfer this knowledge into the next jam and deliver something more polished and complete.
